Artak Zakaryan
Artak Albertovich Zakaryan, born in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia, in 1967, is a distinguished sculptor and artist. His artistic journey began during high school when he attended the A.K. Kojoyan Art School-Studio, named after the renowned Armenian painter and graphic artist.
Following his initial training, Zakaryan pursued formal education at the Terlemezyan Art College, specializing in sculpture. He continued his studies at the Yerevan State Academy of Arts, further honing his skills in the Sculpture Department.
In recent years, Zakaryan has expanded his artistic repertoire to include watercolor painting. His work primarily features multi-layered watercolor techniques in both impressionism and realism. The inherent qualities of watercolor—transparency, lightness, and tenderness—allow him to create both simple, small-scale works and intricate, large-scale compositions.
Zakaryan has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows, with his works residing in private collections across Armenia, Russia, Austria, and China. Despite his focus on sculpture, he continues to explore various directions in watercolor, driven by the medium's versatile and multifaceted nature.
