Arouna Guindo is a multidisciplinary from Benin republic living in New Orleans Louisiana since February 2023. His art practice is focus on dance, painting and sculpture. As a professional choreographer he transcript his aesthetics through paintings and sculptures using those two mediums as archives for movement practice.
His artworks are usually made of wire, recycled materials like plastic objects, metals , cans, cardboard, glue, ductape, canvas, acrylic, toys, ready made, plaster, tissues and many other materials.
His creative process is inspired by human biomechanics, dance , attitudes, gesture ,postures. But also kinetic mechanisms and principles.
Trough his works he express cultural values and human being emotions and feelings.
His figures usually showcase spiral shapes and curves in an organic way to share a spiritual and cosmic experience with the viewer.
