The work of Antonio Tropiano, an Italian artist born in Calabria in 1976, develops between the lively streets of Rome and the tranquil landscapes of S. Caterina dello Ionio (Calabria). After a rich university course, undertaken between Florence and Bologna, which allowed him to deepen his study of medieval and Renaissance philology, Antonio began a collaboration with a renowned publishing house, exploring the meanders of the history of art and humanistic literature. However, it is only by following his interest in the mysteries of plastic creation and, in particular, in the versatility of wood that Antonio managed to find a balance, a synthesis between forces that are only apparently irreconcilable: the call of a life outside the most strident gears of contemporaneity and the pressing need to give expression, like a seismograph of the present, to the strong signs of an imminent future.

Guided by an incessant linguistic research, Antonio has developed a unique style, where fascinating metaphors of literary and philosophical inspiration literally take "shape" through the prism of his phenomenological perspective. The result is sculptural forms of great evocative power, with an expressive style that is deliberately simple and refined. His technical mastery manifests itself in an impeccable aesthetic, whose purity sublimates the "meaning" and the "message" of the work, thus emphasizing the importance of the concept. The worked and modeled material, in each of its components, therefore acquires a new and particular intrinsic value, regenerating, transforming and symbolically being reborn to "new life".

The artist thus generates a new conceptual and representative language capable of generating bridges between apparently distant and very dissimilar worlds.
