Painter: Antonio Sirangelo was born on April 19th, 1955 in the town of Trenta in Cosenza/ Italy.Since he was a boy, he has been strongly attracted to arts. Therefore going to an art school was the logical consequence for him. In the following years, he studied painting with great determination, constancy and coherency, always trying to make headway for art in his way. Married to a German and father of a 13-year old son, Antonio Sirangelo lives close to Frankfurt in Germany today. Several exhibitions of his work all over Europe (Camigliatello/ Italy, Bingen/ Germany, and Basel/ Switzerland) have not only given Antonio Sirangelo the chance to show his works, but also to receive fantastic critques for his outstanding work. His paintings are thus to be found in various private collections in Germany, Switzerland and Italy as well as in the United States. The techniques used by Antonio Sirangelo are water-colors, the black-and-white design, and painting on oil. His prefered topics are pitoresque landscapes, portraits, still lives, and the reproduction of the world’s greatest works of art. For even though Modern Art constantly brings forth new ideas, it is uncontested that the ancient works of still have a very strong impact on people. Sirangelo states, that it is this enthusiasm for the work of painters, who created their masterpieces a long time ago, what inspires him in his work.
