Antonio Pirozzi is a contemporary Italian architect and painter, born in Giugliano in Campania. He earned his artistic diploma from the State Art School of Aversa and later graduated in architecture from Federico II University in Naples, where he worked as a researcher specializing in architectural and pictorial restoration until 2007.
Pirozzi’s artistic journey began in 1996, rooted in the metaphysical tradition. His early works drew inspiration from the enigmatic atmospheres and settings characteristic of Giorgio De Chirico. In recent years, however, his style has evolved towards a surrealist reality. His canvases now capture dreamlike and unreal atmospheres, marked by poetic compositions and absurd juxtapositions that delve into the subconscious.
Balancing between metaphysical and surrealist currents, Pirozzi’s art explores the shared themes of dreams and human psychology, uniting these seemingly distinct movements through a profound connection to the psyche.
Pirozzi has primarily exhibited his works in the Neapolitan region and throughout Italy. His artistic practice has been enriched by research trips to Spain, the United States, and other countries, where he engaged with prominent surrealist artists like Vladimir Kush and Rafael Olbinski.
Currently residing in Mugnano di Napoli, Antonio Pirozzi continues to work as both a painter and architect, blending his creative and professional pursuits in his personal studio.
