Anne Marie Lateyron, a contemporary French self-taught artist, has been immersed in the world of drawing and painting since her childhood. It wasn't until the 1990s, however, that she embarked on a dedicated artistic journey. Initially exploring watercolor, she was drawn to the maritime theme, fueled by her deep love for the sea and sailing.
In 2000, a pivotal encounter with established painters served as a profound revelation for Lateyron. This experience led her to explore oil painting, eventually transitioning to acrylics. Her artistic oeuvre is characterized by vibrant, daring colors, blending elements of abstraction and figurative art. Lateyron employs pencils and markers, often creating a multitude of flat areas of paint applied with a palette knife. This unique approach lends a distinctive texture and depth to her creations.
