This collection of paintings reflects my exploration and incorporation of textures. I combine different materials, colors and work intuitively. A a result variation of patterns, unexpected forms and details come to life.
Each painting in this collection is unique. Each has its own narrative while sincerely presenting my emotions, study of materials used and creative ideas that emerged throughout the process.

“Tranquility” and “Fulfilment” are the two paintings in this mini series. Both were inspired by the delicate features of pink marble.
Soft tones of warm peaches and pinks seamlessly interact with each other in both paintings. The gentle color palette creates a feeling of lightness. If you look closely, you’ll see that every inch of the canvas reveals beautiful details, shapes, and delicate brush strokes.
Bringing these two pieces to life was very meditative. The result mirrors my state of mind. Each brush stroke gently unfolded a new layer of peace and tranquility and gave me a deep sense of fulfilment.

Collection of Paintings Inspired by the Stillness and Timelessness of the Desert
This collection of paintings takes us on a journey where reality intersects with a dreamy day in the desert. Time stops as we step into a rocky, sparse landscape to embrace the light. Everything around us is transformed into an exquisite stillness. Profound silence and heat enables us to enter into an unknown dimension.
Deserts are formed over thousands of years under harsh environmental conditions. Through this collection I explore what it means to be immersed in the stillness and timelessness of the desert—and I introduce the freedom and serenity it brings. These paintings are a reflection of our own endurance, battles and the imperative that we not give up. They show that the answer to our dreams and goals will be found in the stillness within us.
Each piece portrays the energy of the desert through static shapes, textures, and burnt earthly colors that endure, even in the brutal presence of an intense sun. Notice also the fluidity of the warm air that encompasses the motionless landscape, creating only an illusion of invariability.

Inspired by dramatic silhouettes of cliffs, the abundance of trees, and the open blue sky above masses of water. Majestic mountain fjords, the movement of water, and reflections of light dance on the surface of these paintings and flow in the air around them.
This collection features overlapping layers of brush strokes that imitate the fluidity of the environment and create shapes that move. Shades of green and blue intersect with teal and lighter tones bring lightness and air. This all comes together to exude a natural energy and a sense of wonder.
This series is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, appreciate, and immerse. As we notice and discover beauty around us, we discover more about ourselves. Approaching the natural world with understanding and gratitude can change how we perceive our own existence.

Biography
Anna Mar is an abstract artist born in Poland and living in Sooke, British Columbia.
Anna’s creative journey started in 2013. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Design from the University of the Arts London UK and began career as a graphic designer and video editor.
She has long worked with various media, combining her passion for design with the power of storytelling. As a multifaceted artist she explored graphic design, illustration, animation, web design, video design and art direction.
After years of thinking about painting, Anna left a digital art world and picked up a brush. She quickly discovered abstract art — a pure form of expression and a journey of self discovery.
Anna believes that art reflects what is happening in our lives. It allows for an open statement and a conversation without words. Abstract art is an individual, unique form of expression. Through her art, Anna finds a connection with herself.
Anna’s art is strongly influenced by nature and emotions. She spends a lot of time outdoors, immersing herself in her surroundings and experiencing creation in its purest form. She looks at nature through the prism of our existence and our (co)existence with nature is an integral element of her art.
Her work is very organic. It shares the essence and beauty of the natural form and focuses our attention on the unnoticed. It is an expression of discovery, gratitude and fulfillment. Each individual artwork tells a story, shares emotions, and reveals a journey.
