Oil drybrush is a painting technique where a paint brush is relatively dry but still holds paint. A very thin layer of color is applied to a paper.
Drybrush is layered layer after layer and reworked with an eraser, at this point it is possible to incorporate different lighting effects and details. Images painted with a dry brush appear very similar to a photo.

Danguole Serstinskaja is an internationally acclaimed artist known for her emotionally powerful animal portraits and masterful use of dry brush and pastel techniques. With over 80 international art awards, her hyperrealistic black-and-white drawings and vivid fantasy pieces have captivated juries and collectors worldwide.

Working primarily in dry brush technique with oil on paper, as well as soft and oil pastels, Danguolė focuses on the expression, emotion, and spirit of each animal, especially through their eyes. Her works often feature dogs, cats, lions, and tigers, portrayed with stunning depth and personality. Occasionally, she explores vibrant fantasy worlds using gouache and acrylics, blending realism with imaginative storytelling.

A multiple-time winner of the American Art Awards, she was honored as the MASTERPIECE Winner 2018 and holds top placements in the World Art Awards and Mondial Art Academia. Her art has been exhibited internationally and praised for its emotional impact, technical brilliance, and soul-stirring presence.

Danguolė’s work speaks to those who value authenticity, detail, and the deep connection between humans and animals. Each piece is not just a portrait — it’s a story of life, character, and silent communication.
