Czytając literaturę malarzy zdobywał wiedzę i doświadczenie w dziedzinie malarstwa olejnego. Od lat 70-tych zaczął realizować własne prace. W latach 80-tych część swoich prac zostały wystawione w Warszawskim Przeglądzie Twórczości Plastyków Nieprofesjonalnych. Pierwsza indywidualna wystawa jego prac została zorganizowana przez Biuro Wystaw Artystycznych w Wałbrzychu 1984 roku w salach zamku w Książu.
