The photograph depicts a poignant scene of empty tables and chairs arranged on the embankment of a cafe during a storm. The composition captures the stillness and abandonment of the outdoor seating area, with no patrons in sight, suggesting a moment of pause or evacuation in response to the brewing weather conditions. The tables and chairs, devoid of human presence, stand as silent witnesses to the power of nature as dark storm clouds gather overhead, casting a dramatic and foreboding atmosphere over the scene.

Amidst the tranquil setting, subtle details come into focus, such as the reflections on the tabletops, hinting at the play of light and shadow in the surroundings. The elements of wind and water are implied through the dynamic presentation of the scene, with the potential for impending movement and change palpable in the air. The sepia-toned grain of the photograph further enhances the mood, adding a nostalgic or timeless quality to the captured moment, inviting viewers to contemplate the intersection of nature and human-made spaces.

In this image, Andriy Solovyov skillfully conveys a sense of duality between the tranquility of the cafe setting and the dynamic energy of the storm, inviting viewers to reflect on themes of solitude, resilience, and the fleeting nature of moments in time. Through his lens, Solovyov explores the intersection of human life and the natural world, capturing a fleeting instance that embodies the complex relationship between individuals and their environment. The photograph serves as a visual poem, encapsulating the beauty and fragility of fleeting moments amidst the ever-changing landscape of life.

I am interested in different categories of abstraction, as well as people and nature — my favorite themes. In my earlier work, I used film cameras, but now I prefer digital ones. Recently, I choose digital cameras for their high image detail.

I enjoy showing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Light and shadow create an amazingly elegant, ephemeral beauty in the surrounding world and a subtle simplicity in the image.

In most of my photographs, I shoot documentarily, but the only change in this process occurs when I work on the computer to make the final edits for printing. It is here that I allow myself greater freedom in how the photograph will ultimately look. I enjoy photographing in series.
