At the center of the composition, we see a semblance of a stage or arena, rendered in muted yellow-brown tones. It has an unusual shape, resembling a truncated triangle pointing downwards. This central area is illuminated, contrasting with the surrounding dark, almost black background that engulfs most of the canvas.
Some actions unfold on this stage, but they lack a clear meaning or narrative. We see scattered figures of people, barely sketched with brushstrokes. They appear static or immersed in their own activities, detached from what is happening. On the left, a solitary figure in dark clothing stands, observing the scene. In the depths of the stage, an archway is visible, resembling a theatrical portal, behind which the silhouettes of other people can be discerned.
The objects on the stage also seem random and inexplicable. Several chairs, a small table with some items, unclear geometric shapes – all this creates a sense of fragmentation and incoherence. The perspective is distorted, the planes do not align, which intensifies the feeling of the unreality of what is happening.
The artist uses a free, expressive manner of painting. The strokes are broad, impasto, in places almost careless. This creates a sense of understatement, a hint, allowing the viewer to speculate and interpret what they see. The color palette is restrained, built on the contrast between the light center and the dark periphery, with a dominance of earthy shades.
The atmosphere of the painting is unsettling and mysterious. The absence of a clear plot and logic in the arrangement of figures and objects evokes a feeling of disorientation and absurdity. The title "Theatre of the Absurd" accurately conveys this sense of meaninglessness and chaos of what is happening, prompting reflection on the nature of reality, human existence, and our place in this unpredictable world.
Kreminsky's work does not offer answers but rather poses questions, immersing the viewer in a world of subconscious images and irrational connections characteristic of the aesthetics of the theatre of the absurd.

Andrey Kreminsky
was born on November 17, 1980 in Kharkov, Ukraine.
In 1995 he graduated from the Kharkov Art School named after I. E. Repin. From 1995 to 2000 he studied at the painting and pedagogical faculty of the Kharkov State Art School. Since 2000 he has been a professor at the Kharkov State Art School. – student of the faculty of "Image-creative art" (specialization – graphics) of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. From 2003 to 2005 he worked as a teacher at the Kharkiv Art School named after I. E. Repin, since 2005 – teacher of the Kharkiv State Art College. In 2006 he graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts with honors and praise of the council, in 2008 – master's degree at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts with honors.
Multiple winner of All-Ukrainian Olympiads. Since 2004 – member of the association of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. 2022. Awarded the Academician's diploma.
Works are in private collections in Ukraine, Germany, Switzerland, USA and Israel. Participated in more than 30 exhibitions. The main direction is abstract expressionism, genre – symbolic composition.
