Après des études aux Beaux-Art de Paris de 1921 à 1923, il reçoit en 1930 le prix Blumenthal et nommé en 1931 sociétaire aux peintres-graveurs français Parrains Dunoyer de segonzac et Laboureur).
En 1936, André Jacquemin reçoit le grand prix des Arts attribué pour la première fois à un graveur et sera représentant en 1937 à la biennale de Venise avec Marcel Grommaire et Jacques Villon.
En 1953, il est nommé Conservateur du Musée international de l'imagerie des Vosges à Epinal.
Il est l'invité d'honneur de nombreux salons ;
- Salon du Dessin et de la Peinture à l'eau en 1980
- La bibliothèque Nationale présente son œuvre gravée en 1981
- La Monnaie de Paris où il expose 500 œuvres diverses en 1982
- Le Salon d'Automne en 1985 et le Salon de la Nationale des Beaux-Arts en 1987 lui offrent une salle hommage. Son œuvre gravée dépasse le millier de cuivre dans les techniques de l'eau forte, de la pointe-sèche et du burin et plusieurs centaines de dessins dans diverses techniques. Son œuvre d'illustrateur comprend 30 ouvrages d'auteurs consacrés. Ses œuvres sont acquises dans de nombreux musées Français et musées étrangers. Il est Officier de la Légion d'Honneur, Officier des Arts et des Lettres et Chevalier du Mérite Postal.

After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1921 to 1923, he received the Blumenthal Prize in 1930 and was appointed in 1931 as a member of the French painter-engravers Parrains Dunoyer de Segonzac and Laboureur). In 1936, André Jacquemin received the Grand Prix des Arts, awarded for the first time to an engraver, and was a representative in 1937 at the Venice Biennale with Marcel Grommaire and Jacques Villon. In 1953, he was appointed Curator of the Musée international de l'imagerie des Vosges in Epinal. He was the guest of honor at many exhibitions; - Salon du Dessin et de la Peinture à l'eau in 1980 - The National Library presents his engraved work in 1981 - The Monnaie de Paris where he exhibits 500 various works in 1982 - The Salon d'Automne in 1985 and the Salon de la Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1987 offer him a tribute room. His engraved work exceeds a thousand copperplates in the techniques of etching, drypoint and burin and several hundred drawings in various techniques. His work as an illustrator includes 30 works by established authors. His works are acquired in many French and foreign museums. He is an Officer of the Legion of Honor, Officer of Arts and Letters and Knight of Postal Merit. André JACQUEMIN, a renowned artist, became friends with MATISSE, PICASSO, DUFY, UTRILLO, WAROQUIER, GUASTELLA, LEON LANG, SOULAS, COURNAULT, VILLON and many others, where he shared the artistic scene with them for more than 60 years.
