DESDE MI TALLER (LAHORA)

 Me llamo Analvis Somoza y soy el resultado de lo que es nacer en una isla caribeña (nací en la Habana, Cuba) con todo lo que eso implica, calles e iglesias coloniales con sus respectivos vitrales coloridos a la luz del sol tropical y olores del puerto. Un lugar mágico, cargado de historias, y lleno de gente abierta. Esa es mi raíz. Estudié y me gradué  en la academia de Bellas Artes “San Alejandro” (Cuba).

 En mi obra, me interesan como camino la espontaneidad, la ejecución pasional y libre, el arte figurativo, las huellas desenfadadas del pincel, trazos expresionistas, distorsiones, patakies afrocubanos, seducen y condicionan mis procesos creativos, los cuales transitan necesariamente por ser una crónica de lo maravilloso en lo real. Eligiendo la línea y el color como expresión de los cuerpos, en la deformidad de espíritus que fluctúan como fantasmas en las calles. Es donde, mi personaje principal, El “Dandy”, figura inspiradora y latente en mi obra, como Fusión cultural de los Manienses-Habaneros. Es el personaje es el creador de mi serie “Imágenes de los Dandys”, iniciada en 1991, De ahí, que como artista me importen las imágenes humanas tumultuosas, la vida cotidiana sobre todo la metropolitana, donde la realidad posee el relieve dramático, que representa la transfiguración de lo real.

 En ese sentido, mi búsqueda posee también lo transcultural, por lo que algunas otras imágenes de mi universo artístico, transitan en procesos en lo que evidencio influencias hispanas, indígenas y afros de la cultura cubana. Desde el 2017 radico en la Florida, Estados Unidos.
