Scorpius Painting by Ana Gonçalves

She was born on 27 August 1960 in Olhão. She is self-taught. Between 1982 and 2007, she dedicated herself to painting in her studio, perfecting her knowledge and techniques, but due to her very busy professional life, she was unable to give public expression to her work. In 2007, she was challenged by her first exhibition, which exceeded all her expectations and opened up new paths for her.
Her painting is emotional, she tries to represent the world and feelings according to a very personal vision imbued with colour and movement that expresses everything she is. “I am a bird flying in the blue and diving into the immensity of the earth’s colours. I am what I paint”.
Her CV includes five solo and several group exhibitions in the country and her work is represented in private collections.
