Amanda Ye was born in Guangdong, China in 1966 and currently lives and works in Singapore. Her works are inspired by the beauty of nature, mythology and modern life. Her ink paintings combine contemporary painting aesthetics with the tools and techniques of traditional oriental ink art, exploring the tension between representation and materiality, figuration and abstraction, and how the mechanism of the image shapes our viewing behavior.
