The glow of the lantern is central to the composition, casting a soft and inviting light that plays delicately on the snowy landscape. The snow-laden branches framing the scene add a touch of natural elegance, creating a harmonious interplay between the warmth of the lantern and the untouched beauty of nature.
In "Lantern in the Snow," I sought to convey not just the visual appeal of winter but also the emotions it stirs. The untouched snow on the ground reflects the ambient light, contributing to the immersive and atmospheric quality of the painting. The choice of a solitary lantern is intentional, inviting viewers to feel a sense of nostalgia and mystery while encouraging quiet contemplation.

France-based artist originally from Siberia, Alexandra KAZAKOVA blends the traditions of her Soviet roots with the vibrant inspiration of Paris. Alexandra regularly exhibits her works in France and internationally, participating in various collective art projects.
Alexandra Kazakova was born in the USSR, and since 2005, she has been living and working in Paris.
She started her artistic training at the age of 12 at the school of traditional Russian decorative art, where she studied decorative painting on wooden objects. About 10 years ago, she turned towards photography, and for the past three years, she has mainly focused on drawing and painting. Her art is a journey through cultures, largely inspired by her encounters.
A pivotal moment in her art journey was her move to France – a decision that infused her work with new dimensions. Here, she could immerse herself in the works of the Great Old Masters and embrace the essence of the Impressionist movement, thereby influencing her creative perspective.
Fascinated with psychology and particularly the relationship between people, Alexandra represents human feelings and relationships through shadows, lines and color.
"Each of us carries our own stories, our own pains, our own hopes and dreams".
Creativity for her is a way of self-discovery and self-development.
