Alex Munzone
Alex Munzone was born in Catania, Italy, in 1979 and currently lives and works between Catania, Rome, and London. He began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania in 2000, graduating with honors and special mention in 2005.
Munzone has exhibited his work in various galleries across Italy, Greece, and Switzerland, including the former slaughterhouse of Testaccio at the “Spazio Giovani – Roma Capitale” and the Brodbeck Foundation in Catania.
Following a illness in 2021, which he overcame in 2022 through a transformative journey of self-awareness and healing, Munzone's work has evolved to focus on the theme of transformation. He creates pictorial fragments inspired by the detailed images of the Hubble telescope, exploring the relationship between the macrocosm and the human experience. His projects investigate a hypothetical psychology of the universe, reflecting human psychology through abstract forms and sequences. These works are designed as coded “Morse” codes to foster dialogue between humanity, nature, and the universe.
