The picture depicts a place near which one of our family friends, a hunter, has a wintering ground. I had never been there before, and my husband once brought me to show what it looked like and where it was.
Wintering turned out to be a very nice and interesting place for me, which consisted of two huts: one house was residential, and in the second there was a bath-house, next to it was a cord of wood. So cozy there was everything equipped with a skillful wintering master. And the nature around was fabulous!
This area is located in a village with the symbolic name Pacific. Until 1970, the Chinese name of the village was Udagou (formed from Udaogou - Fifth Deep). But local residents of Primorsky Krai often still use their usual Chinese names for villages and cities (Tetyukhe (from the Chinese wild boar valley) - now Dalnegorsk and etc).

Alevtina Pugina is a contemporary Russian artist known for her realistic landscapes painted in oil on canvas. She specializes in creating custom landscapes based on photographs provided by her clients. By incorporating details shared by the clients about the specific day captured in the photograph, Alevtina evokes the unique atmosphere of that moment—whether it be the coolness of an autumn evening, the whisper of an early morning, or the aroma of freshly cut hay.
Having participated in dozens of fine art exhibitions, Alevtina’s paintings are celebrated for their astonishing realism. Her work is sought after around the world, with a particularly strong following in Japan and China. At each exhibition, long queues of buyers form in anticipation of acquiring her pieces. She has a remarkable ability to convey the mood of nature, depicting elements like snow, rain, frost, and droplets on glass with such precision that viewers often find themselves questioning whether they are looking at a painting or a photograph.
Alevtina describes her artistic style as realism, and she employs a delicate approach to painting using a thin brush. She begins with broad strokes and then refines the details with careful brushwork to express her feelings more subtly.
Alevtina has never formally studied painting; her achievements are a testament to her innate talent, hard work, and dedication to self-education. Although she drew inspiration from great Russian artists such as I.I. Shishkin and I.I. Levitan, whom she imitated in her early works, she also acknowledges the influence of contemporary masters like A.M. Shilov and N.S. Safronov.
Inspired by the native seaside landscapes and natural beauty around her, Alevtina Pugina's unique painting style sets her apart from many other artists, allowing her to capture the essence of the world through her distinct artistic lens.
