Originally from Boulogne sur mer, now living in Houplines, near Lille, Alain Ravaut trained as an artist in England (portrait school), then at the Beaux-arts in Boulogne sur mer, where for around thirty years he attended the studios of Jacques Salvignol (drawing, painting), Marc Butti (sculpture) and André Marsy (engraving). A polymorphic artist, he takes the same pleasure in expressing himself through drawing, oil or acrylic, clay and bronze. (A self-taught founder, he has been making his own bronzes for about fifteen years... Often inspired by live models, he also likes to stage his characters, often female, in figurative and expressionist canvases. His sculptures, also expressionist, are sometimes tinged with a fantastic touch.
Numerous personal exhibitions (Wimereux, Marquise, Calais, Gravelines, Honfleur, Bondues, Wambrechies, Dunkirk, Villeneuve d'Ascq) and collective exhibitions.
