Agnese Kurzemniece is a Latvian artist living and working in Riga. She studied painting at the Janis Rozentāls Riga Art High School and further honed her skills at the Graphics Department of the Latvian Academy of Arts. Additionally, she expanded her expertise in gravure techniques at Henrik Boeg's non-toxic workshop in Spain.
Agnese's recent work primarily focuses on acrylic painting, where she builds upon themes from her graphic art, particularly exploring the evolving nature of women and their world. Her paintings delve into the concept of refuge, using landscapes as a symbolic and conceptual motif.
Agnese has participated in numerous local and international group exhibitions and has held several solo shows. Her works are housed in prominent collections, including the Rothko Museum and various Latvian museums such as those in Ventspils, Ogre, and Preiļi. Her art is also part of private collections worldwide. Agnese is a member of the Latvian Artists' Union and the Latvian Graphics Chamber.
