It was in the collective workshop APLC that I discovered oil painting on linen canvas, which is now the mainstay of my work.
My website presents a sample of my latest work, inspired by photos taken during my travels. The main themes are nature, particularly tropical landscapes and forests: I lived in the West Indies, and I am still impressed by the force of the wild and exuberant nature of these lands. My paintings also include urban landscapes and portraits. I sometimes like to mix techniques, as in the portrait "La Bougie": on an acrylic background imitating raw canvas, I first drew the model's hair and outline in charcoal and white pastel, then, after fixing, I applied the areas of light in oil, creating a strong chiaroscuro contrast and a shimmering effect.
My style is generally contrasted, colorful and textured. Drawing plays an important role, sometimes in opposition to a more abstract background.
