The painting is part of an open painting series, launched in 2017 entitled "Red Riding Hood Alternative History".
The image "Joy or Red Riding Hood" is a reference to the well-known fairy-tale character of a little girl wearing a red headdress,
originated from folk tales, and first described by Charles Perrault in 1697 in the book "Fairy Tales of Granny". The shape of the Red Hood is most often associated with the Fairy Tales of the Grimm Brothers from the 19th century entitled "Red Riding Hood".
In each of these stories, the Wolf is an enemy of the Red Riding Hood who wants to cheat and eat.
The author's goal was to create a contemporary, alternative story where Red Riding Hood and the Wolf are friends, traveling companions. The picture shows the inner transformation of the heroes, where the Hoood is already matured, less naive girl, and the Wolf is set on positive action, not trick.

Born in 1988, she graduated in architecture, but painting has been her greatest passion since childhood, and with time it has also become a way of life. The artist has been gaining more and more popularity for years by cooperating with galleries, taking part in competitions and exhibitions. Her works are also in many private collections.

The artist creates in several styles that can be classified in a generally accepted way, such as surrealism, impressionism or abstraction. However, the works in its version differ from the classic ones and reflect its unique and unrepeatable style.

The first style is surrealism. The proportions and laws of physics are disturbed in it. We often move underwater or into the world straight from macro photography. This unreal place is a specific metaphor of the human mind, connecting consciousness with the subconscious.
The second characteristic style is modern impressionism. There, the artist uses strong colors, thickly applied paint and the play of light to transfer the viewer to another world.
Another trend characteristic of Agata Buczek’s paintings are abstractions. Her output includes such paintings made with many techniques and styles. These are both oil and acrylic paints as well as various types of media. Despite such a diverse approach, we can still notice common features for this artist.
