“Echoes of Self” is an evocative piece from the Inner Spectrum series, exploring the fragile boundary between individuality and duplication, identity and reflection. Two identical figures stand side by side in shallow water, their backs turned to the viewer, hands nearly touching yet not fully clasped. Their matching braided hair and uniform attire suggest an eerie symmetry, a sense of rehearsed perfection—yet beneath the surface, their feet dissolve into the water, as if reality itself is slipping away.

This piece examines the tension between duality and selfhood. Are these figures twins, mirrored selves, or two fragments of the same identity? The dreamlike setting—a still, enclosed pool with blurred, abstract patterns on the walls—adds to the surreal quality, reinforcing the idea of distorted memory, suppressed emotions, or an inner dialogue made visible. The submerged feet introduce a subtle unease, symbolizing dissolution, transformation, or an identity slowly fading into uncertainty.

“Echoes of Self” is a meditation on self-perception, psychological entanglement, and the way identity shifts within relationships. It invites the viewer to examine their own experience of selfhood—are we ever truly separate, or are we reflections of those closest to us?
