Ado Furlanetto è nato a Treviso e vive ed opera a Vajont (PN).
Ha iniziato l'attività artistica nel 1977 allestendo la prima personale nel 1979.
Inizialmente dipinge paesaggi figurativi di taglio personale, giocando sui tre quarti di cielo. Attratto dalla pittura informale, fa una continua ricerca, giungendo a comporre opere di puro astrattismo lirico. Nel 1979 presenzia a vari concorsi nazionali ed internazionali e già nel 1980 riscuote i primi riconoscimenti. Tra i più importanti cita Pordenone, Treviso, Cordignano (TV), Udine, Cervia (RA), Fiume Veneto (PN), Mira (VE),Novara...
Le sue opere sono state giudicate e premiate dai pittori e critici: Gastone Breddo, Remo Brindisi, Salvatore Maugeri, Mario Portalupi, Armando Pizzinato, Carlo Rigoni, Domenico Purificato, Tonino Cragnolini, Mario Abis, Guido Tavagnacco, Enzo Demattè, Lino Dinetto, Giuseppe Marchiori, Paolo Rizzi, Giuseppe Zigaina...
Fa parte dell'Associazione "AURA- Associazione Artistico Culturale del Friuli Venezia Giulia".
Ha partecipato a collettive e allestito personali a Roma, Venezia, Treviso, Como, Pordenone, Udine, Maniago (PN),Trento, Sacile (PN), Santhià (VC), Avellino, Perugia,Vajont (PN),Costalta di Cadore (BL), Abbazia di Sesto al Reghena (PN), Novara,Cervia (RA), Castelfranco Veneto (TV), Parma, Venzone (UD), SAcromaggiore Terme (PR)
All'estero ha esposto a Parigi e in Polonia, presso il museo di Breslavia.
