Abgar Khachatryan, a contemporary Armenian painter, has established himself in the art world through his unique blend of graphic and painting techniques. His journey as an artist began with formal education at the P. Terlemezian Art College, where he studied painting from 2001 to 2003. He further honed his skills at the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Art, graduating from the Faculty of Art Graphic in 2009.
In recognition of his talent and dedication to the arts, Abgar Khachatryan was elected as a member of the Armenian Artists Union in 2010. His artworks have garnered acclaim and found homes in private collections across Armenia, Europe, and Russia.
Abgar's artistic evolution is characterized by his exploration of various mediums and techniques. He initially experimented with his own monotipia technique on small metal surfaces but has since expanded his repertoire to include collage works that integrate graphic elements with painting. Utilizing wood or canvas as his canvas, Abgar employs oil and mixed media to create intricate compositions. His works often feature symbols of crosses, old manuscripts text, and ancient details such as the head of coins, reflecting his fascination with history and symbolism.
Throughout his career, Abgar Khachatryan has participated in numerous exhibitions both locally and internationally, including in Armenia, Europe (Italy, Malta), and Russia (Moscow, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Barnaul). His artistic endeavors continue to captivate audiences with their depth, complexity, and rich cultural symbolism.
