I remember drawing with color pencils on any paper I could find as a child. Since then, I believe I was probably on a journey which my subconscious mind and innocent steps never understood. Than I grew up to be a teenager who used to be different and realized the necessary for space and time or freedom at a young age.
When I decided to enroll myself in many of the prestigious art schools I came face to face with humility as its an impossibility for a high school drop-out. But my optimism with help from people managed to complete a diploma course in art along with a one year hard course in nude study from two different private art schools in Calcutta. Its been the hard way for me which I thoroughly enjoyed with all the new discovery and the perspectives of life within and beyond, which accompanies it. I also experienced certain philosophies and tested challenging behavior, attitudes and personalities just to learn and understand its positive sides all for myself.
Perhaps its because of my extremity that I always encountered conflicts within myself whenever I paint . It was total madness and painful. I wonder if the pain of growing up, the anxiety, the emotions on discovering truth and the hunger that a youngster goes through is reflected on my canvas. But than I yearn for a soul on my canvas, something which I knew EXIST THERE but never appeared so far. Maybe the journey never ends.
