Родился в Нарофоминске в 1932 году.
В 1948 - 1953 годах учился в Московском художественно-промышленном училище имени М.И. Калинина.
Член Союза Художников СССР с 1978 года.
В студии военных художников им.М.Б.Грекова работал с 1956г. В 1985г. присвоено почетное звание "Заслуженный художник РСФСР".

Годы жизни:
1932-2006гг.

Антонов Сергей Георгиевич с 1960г. Участник художественных выставок.
Произведения С.Г.Антонова экспонировались в Центральном музее вооружённых сил, Государственном Историческом музее, музее-панораме «Бородинская битва», в краеведческих музеях Новосибирска, Тамбова, Нарофоминска, Ельца, в музее А.В.Суворова, Киеве.
Картины и гравюры художника демонстрировались на выставках в Венгрии, Польше, Чехословакии, Бирме, Сомали, Финляндии, Франции, Югославии.
Важной темой творчества художника стал пейзаж – он не любит парадные мотивы. Его пейзажи камерны и задушевны, произведения несут не только реалистическую художественную основу, но и лирическое отношение к милым сердцу уголкам Руси.
