Striving to capture drama, through fantasy looking sky, varying texture, exciting contrasts, unexpected colors. The brush strokes in this painting are thick and intend to increase depth, texture and motion.
It was designed to create an emotional impact in its viewers.

Zelie Alice is best known for her visually striking, bold-colored paintings that radiate energy and movement. An award-winning artist, she has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions across Asia, Europe, Australia, and the USA. Her work is defined by an intense, expressive use of color and dynamic brushstrokes, creating compositions that feel alive and immersive.
Over the years, she has developed her own unique style by constantly pushing herself to experiment with new techniques and forms. She describes her style as “Vivid Impressionism”, an evolution of contemporary impressionism that blends spontaneity with intention, emotion with structure. Her use of color is unrestrained, filled with bold contrasts and sweeping gestures that bring her landscapes to life. Each painting is an invitation to pause, feel, and experience the world with renewed wonder.
She often merges recognizable landscapes with expressive, dreamlike skies, balancing reality and imagination. Her goal is to evoke strong emotions through her use of vibrant colors, creating paintings that are both powerful and alluring. She believes that art is more than just an image—it is an unspoken dialogue between the artwork and the viewer, forming a deep emotional connection beyond words.
Zelie Alice is a Maldivian artist based in Paris, France. Her work is inspired by nature, trees, landscapes, country cottages, and ever-changing seascapes. While her subject matter varies, she is drawn to the fluidity of nature and its ability to transform. She primarily works with acrylic and oil, allowing her to build texture and depth. Her artistic journey has been shaped by the diverse places she has called home and traveled, each influencing her perspective on color, movement, and human connection to nature. Through her work, she explores the emotional and visual dialogue between landscapes and memory.
In 2022, her artwork entered the permanent collection of the National Art Museum of China in Beijing—one of the most prestigious and largest museums in the world. Her paintings are also held in permanent collections in China and Singapore, as well as in private collections, luxury hotels, and resorts across Asia, Europe, Australia and the USA.
