Zart Zabelle chose acrylic paint, and values the texturedeffect she could create using mostly sand - rare and non-renewable, the most-used ressource on earth after water -and nets - the most commonly found waste in our oceans andon our beaches.Both are embedded into the canvas before the paintingbegins, are merged into the ensemble. Showing through inplaces, these materials carry meaning : they reference thechoices we make in relation to the environment, and the waywe let - or not - life catch us in its nets, in the world before us.
