Welcome to my world of art! I'm an artist who uses the universally loved symbol of a smiley face to explore complex and often serious themes like climate change, drugs, pharma, equality, and gambling, etc, etc, etc.
But don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom! My goal is to spark conversation and reflection through my art, but also to keep things fun and interesting. You might find yourself smiling at the colorful faces and playful expressions, while simultaneously being intrigued by the deeper message hidden beneath the surface.
So, what inspires me? Inspiration comes from all around me – from the news headlines to everyday conversations, I'm constantly observing and processing the world around me. I believe art has the power to capture these complex issues and present them in a way that is both accessible and thought-provoking.
My creative process is a bit like a delicious smoothie. I blend together different ideas, emotions, and experiences, adding a dash of humor, a sprinkle of surprise, and a generous helping of color. The result? A unique and vibrant piece of art that is sure to start a conversation.

Born into an Italian family in Argentina, Rolando Contento is a multifaceted artist and designer whose life has been shaped by his diverse interests and talents.
Rolando's intellectual prowess was evident from a young age. He honed his skills through his passion for chess and mathematics, and developed his showmanship through magic tricks.
Further studies in architecture refined Rolando's understanding of structure and form, which he later integrated into his artistic pursuits. Additionally, his talent as a graphic artist led him to create captivating works across diverse mediums, including illustrations, cartoons, and advertising campaigns.
Rolando's career took him to several renowned jeanswear companies, where he served as a creative director.
Continuing to push boundaries, Rolando ventured into textile print design, painting, and illustration.
He works in his studios based in New York and London.
