In this painting, the artist continues his exploration of various mask configurations.
Regardless of which of them lies, which one rises above the others, whose size is larger, which has some kind of stripes on the face, they all remain masks, just ordinary masks. During the coronavirus, used masks were thrown away when they became stale, but this subsequently worsened the environment, increasing landfills. If we philosophize, then in the same way a person frees himself from his subpersonalities, tearing off the mask that he wore for a long time. Then he changes, but again puts on a new mask. In fact, it is difficult to understand what
the true essence of each of us is. Does it exist at all, or is it just a change of masks from one to another, and underneath it all there is just emptiness. Masks, like used personal protective equipment, are dangerous because they contain infection.
Without the owner, other people can wear them. Perhaps even the masks themselves jump onto someone's face and become the master of human will.
Looking at how carefully artificial intelligence studies us on the Internet, we can assume that digital casts of you and me will soon live their own lives, like masks depicted in a still life. So this picture acquires even more symbolism, becoming futurological and dystopian.
