Saturday 12 March 2011
Saturday 14 May 2011

Attention: Encaustic Students/Artists!

Get your imaginations ready for the first 3 monthly Saturday morning Encaustic Studio Sessions at LucSculpture! Due to popular demand, emerging Encaustic artists will have this rare opportunity to use the tools and supplies to further develop their skills with Encaustic artist and instructor, Victoria Wallace, on hand to answer all of your questions about working with this wonderful waxy medium.

On Saturdays March 12th, April 16th, and May 14th from 10 am to 1 pm, Encaustic artists will begin to enrich their knowledge about the wide range of techniques of Encaustic, the ancient Greek and Egyptian art of painting with pigmented, melted beeswax.

Victoria will demonstrate prepping the ground for Encaustic as a refresher for the students, but watching is optional, since some of you may wish to dig right in to the fragrant, melted beeswax!

LucSculpture is a fully equipped and beautiful fine art school and studio, owned and operated by sculptor, Luc Bihan, located at 663 Greenwood, just north of the Danforth, conveniently located across the street from Greenwood subway station, with plenty of street parking close to the school.

These 3 Encaustic Studio Sessions take place on Saturday morning from 10 am to 1 pm on March 12th, April 16th, and May 14th from 10 am to 1 pm.

Materials:

10” x 10” masonite panels will be available for purchase

$2 each, ungessoed
$4 each, gessoed

Otherwise, all of the tools, equipment and materials required for these Encaustic sessions will be supplied by the instructor. Alternatively, students may bring their own substrates.

Cost for each Encaustic Studio Session is $60 plus HST or $160 for all 3. Additionally, there is a 10% discount to LucSculpture School and Studio members. To reserve your seat in this ancient artistic experience, a 50% deposit is required, with the balance to be paid the evening of the first Encaustic studio session. Alternately, the cost for all three sessions may be paid in advance. To reserve your seat, please call Victory Art Supply, 705.536.3051, or email
