“Dream” has always been the powerful driving force for the continuous advancement of mankind.
However, is having a dream bound to succeed?
I met my mid-life crisis at the age of 45, which also marked the turning point in my life.
That was the year where my husband and I had lost our jobs!
What’s next? I asked myself…
So I took out my paintbrush that had been sealed for a long time and began to paint.
In 2018, I spent the whole year painting a bunch of artworks that no one will pay attention to.
They were the kind of works that you can only expect a few likes on any social media or art platform.
This made me think harder…
If there is nothing new under the sun, what will attract eyeballs then?!
What should I draw so that I can both live up to my dream and also sustain my livelihood?!
That’s when I decided to draw myself…
My true self
My naked self
And with NO boundary at all!
This new attempt were both exciting and scary to me
because it’s a path I’ve never travelled and also a bold approach
And being bold can be very controversial.
My art began to attract attention amidst all kinds of praise and criticism
I received an interview from local media. Just when I got another invitation from foreign media, Covid-19 broke out in December 2019. Whatever was being planned had to be put to a halt!
I, including people all over the world, was forced to adapt to a lifestyle named "new normal"!
During the lockdown, the only place that’s safe and freed to travel is the "Internet".
I spent most of 2020 drawing and knocking on every door to seek opportunity… art galleries, publications, competitions etc..
However, what I received was nothing but rejections… No one is willing to take in my work!
When the world greeted 2021 without any celebration, I entered the New Year with much self-doubt.
Not only that, this was also the 1st Lunar Chinese New Year that I did not buy any new clothes for myself
because my cash flow was very tight!
I had lost count of how many times that I’ve thought of giving up
But after which I always manage to pull myself together and move forward!
I kept on painting…
With all the accumulative skills, experience and artwork
I began to consolidate my portfolio
In June this year, I finally saw my hard work starting to pay off.
• I won the “Top 80 paintings award” in the “2021 Spring Malaysia International Online Juried Art Competition” under the “face and figure” category.
• I have participated in a Group Exhibition held by Boomer Gallery in London (June 2021)
• 2 of my paintings were being accepted into the “Best of Erotic Art Book” under the publication of “Erotic Art London” (EAL). Out of which, the same painting shall also be exhibited in the SEATTLE Erotic Art Festival in October 2021
• I am among the 1st round selected candidates for COCA, Center Of Contemporary Artists 2021 Project in Rome (2nd round selection result is yet to be determined)
• Three of my work will be exhibited in CON-TEMPORARY Art Observatorium in Italy in autumn.
However, just when I started to feel “hopeful”, the pandemic in Malaysia had totally lost control due to the long-standing political entanglement between the multiple fighting parties.
What was really shocking was, for the first time in my life, I saw Malaysians hoisting white flags as a result of starvation (namely the white flag campaign).
This truly broke my heart, because Malaysia has always been a beautiful, peaceful and resource-rich country.
This should not happen, BUT it has literally happened
And what was more devastating was that many people were losing hope and decided to commit suicide…
So, this is the story and inspiration behind my painting!
Apparently, there are so many people in this world who are living in dire straits, and some of them are on the verge of dying….
As for me, after being jobless for 2 years,
There’s really nothing much left for me.
Frankly speaking, in order to pay for my art competition and exhibition fees,
I have to sell off my valuable items (which include my wedding ring) in order to cash out…
Is having a dream bound to succeed?
The answer is I don’t know
I only know the only way forward in life is to keep persevering…
Hence, I’m dedicating this painting to everyone in the world who has dreams, but is struggling hard in actual life.
Let’s us not become weary in our pursuit and never give up!

To me, Art has no boundary. It has no limit to whoever wants to create and express! Art is a channel for everyone to tell one story and experience freely!
I’m a professional artist in drawing portrait, especially self-portrait!
I believe Woman is a creation of God and nature. The existence of Woman has made the world colourful and wonderful. Therefore, a nude woman painting should neither be treated as morally nor ethically shameful.
I-Ching defines the world into Ying and Yang, where Yang represents Man and Ying represents Woman. Simultaneously, Yang represents the Heaven and Ying represents the Earth. These are the two forces that complement each other in our Universe.
Through my paintings, I want to show the world, how powerful and beautiful a woman (the force of Ying) can be. Once Woman can totally accept and embrace her own identity, body and sexuality to achieve the freedom of life and ultimately reach the perfection in life.
So, here I am, using my self-portrait as a medium to bring out the beautiful stories of being a woman.
I started to draw since I was 6. Partly because drawing is my natural born talent while the other part was due to loneliness. I was born in a small family and my age with my only sibling were years apart. However, my father was a teacher, our home were filled with all kinds of books, inclusive of beautifully illustrated story books.
So, this has in a way nurtured my drawing interest as well as my passion for art! I managed to pursue a Diploma in Advertising and Graphic Design after completed my secondary education! Upon graduated, I was lucky enough to have my 1st art exhibition held together with 12 other locally famous artists and sold most of my paintings! This was how I started my experience and journey in art.
When I was about to become a full-time artist then, I fell in love, got married and put my dream to halt! In fact, I had almost stop painting after that.
However, the “loving” experience of my intimate relationship with my husband did in a way further enhance my “art” experience! I am blessed to have my husband, whom is not only my SOUL and SEX partner, but also my life GURU. He has actually given me a totality of unconditional LOVE.
Such unconditional love from my husband, has not only paved my way to "self-actualization" but also transformed me from a conservative mind to an avant-garde artist.
This is the inspiration behind as to why I use my own body as a medium to present my art and to paint myself.
"LOVE" is just as inspiring and enriching as ART does to one soul. When you are being loved unconditionally and selflessly, you are capable to live your life to the fullest. Not just that, you are empowered with love and positive energy - YOU, become FEARLESS.I would say that LOVE + ART has COMPLETE + UNLEASH ME and made me WHO I AM
