Vahagn Chakmishyan was born in 1970 in Armenia, where he currently lives and works.

From early childhood, he was fond of history, painting, and sculpture. Being especially enthusiastic about the history of jewelry, he acquired his first jewelry scales at 11 years old. Despite the conventional technical education, Vahagn attended modeling and art history circles starting from high school, secretly from his parents. He made his first works as a teenager, continually improving practical skills and learning about history, painting, geology, and jewelry in art.

Vahagn always studied with private and state jewelers, craftsmen in silver, precious stones, as well as with sculptors and artists.  By the age of 20, he achieved popularity and recognition throughout the country, having an impressive collection of jewelry of his own design.  The highest circles of cultural and political society became interested in his work.

By this time, he was a specialist in the jewelry of the Modern era, his beloved styles of work were Art Deco and Art Nouveau, with Cartier, Bvlgari, and Boucheron jewelry houses being his favorite.

By 2005, Vahagn became the jeweler of the top representatives of the Armenian government; his works were the love of first Ladies throughout USSR.

Most of the works of that period are in private collections, nevertheless exhibited at annual competitions and exhibitions in Yerevan, Moscow, Kyiv, Astana, and Bangkok.

In 2010, he received a qualification certificate (high-class jeweler and designer) from the London Academy of Retraining ( Royal Academy of Arts ,London).

From 2010-2012 trained by the best Stonecutters from the masters of Thailand and China, collaborated with representatives of Cartier and Piaget Houses.

For the past 15 years, he has regularly participated in international exhibitions in Europe and Southeast Asia, which now allows him to collaborate with partners from Belgium, Netherlands, India, Singapore and more countries.
