Saverio Magistri nasce a Messina nel 1980. Si trasferisce da subito a Siracusa dove si diploma all’istituto statale d’arte. Nel 2002 parte per Roma dove prosegue la sua formazione lavorando come assistente per i pittori Gioacchino Pontrelli e Marco Tirelli e per la galleria d’arte contemporanea di Lorcan O’Neill. Fondamentale l’incontro con Matteo Boetti con cui inizia una collaborazione. Attualmente vive e lavora a Siracusa. Dove porta avanti diversi progetti contemporaneamente, senza seguire una traiettoria metodologica uniforme. Riconosce nel bisogno di muoversi in tutte le direzioni l'unica via possibile. L'arte è il campo delle sperimentazioni. Si può considerare anche come una critica al concetto di "stile" inteso come un insieme univoco e immodificabile, a favore di un'idea di arte come ricerca in divenire della condizione umana, colta nella sua costante trasformazione.
