Tikou

· Hi! I am a French man. I was born in 1967 in Normandie, in the north of France. My father was himself an artist painter when I was young. So, I am proud to say that I grew up into the smell of oil tubes and into the shape of painting canevas during a few years. Now, I live in Grenoble, in the south of France, very close to the French Alps.

· I am an autodidact painter. I started to paint 10 years ago from time to time. Then, I join a painting workshop. It was a revelation for me and I continued to learn painting. I was happy about my work at the workshop even among other good painters. I started to paint more and more with great pleasure.

· I would like to make fresh paintings that gives a good energy, symbolic and expressive. I am inspired by nature, for example, by the amazing nuances of the colors of the flowers. It is always a good suprise for me to listen to what they discover intomy paintings. It is like they tell their own story even if I know what I wanted to paint.

· I prepare my painting by making drawings on a paper or on computer. Then, I let theinspiration goes : shapes and colors, like if the painting is alive. When I start a new one, I try to slow me to not finish in one-shot and to continue it another day, otherwise I will spend the night on it. I work with brushes and some times I used knifes.

· Tikou is my artist name. I like it and I feel it easy to remind. Tikou could mean "petit coup" in French, translated it to "one shot". Tikou is like "one touch of brush in a white canevas" or "one step forward in the present time" or « one small step for the human»
