Becoming Through Chaos: Watercolor as Transformation
Growth doesn’t always look graceful. Sometimes, it starts with a mess—with chaos, confusion, and things falling apart.
When I arrived in Lisbon this February, I didn’t have a clear plan. I just knew I needed to paint. So I gave myself a challenge: one watercolor a day for 30 days. What began as a creative habit quickly became something more.
Becoming From Chaos is a series of 10 paintings that capture the real shape of transformation. Not the polished version—but the honest, in-progress one. The kind where roots push through cracks. Where light breaks in slowly. Where beauty shows up in unexpected forms.
Each painting holds a moment of becoming—when something old dissolves and something new begins to take form. I let the water lead. I let the color speak. I didn’t try to fix the mess. I let it grow.
This series is about what it feels like to change—not instantly, but day by day. Brushstroke by brushstroke.
Because transformation isn’t clean. But it’s always alive.
