Look at this little cutie! This is a very unusual and funny animal, the sloth. Sloths spend most of their lives in trees, hardly moving at all. And they sleep up to 20 hours a day. I think they spend the other four hours looking for food. They move very slowly, at a speed of 3 m / min in tree crowns and 1.5 m / min on the ground. But they are so slow precisely because their food is very low in calories, and it takes up to a month to digest it in the four compartments of the huge stomach. So they have to save energy. But it turns out that there is a thing in their life that sloths can do quickly! Incredibly, sloths can swim and do it very well. The ability to swim did not develop in them by accident, because in the Amazon rainforest, floods and river overflows are not uncommon. It often happens that water hides the land for several months of the year and sloths have to swim between the trees.
I wanted to draw this extraordinary animal. It is hanging from a tree, grasping it with its long fingers. The pastel crayons softly highlighted the sloth's fur. And with the pastel pencils, I was able to convey the animal's kind and gentle gaze. How cute he is!
The drawing is titled and signed on the back.
