The artwork is about the ever-wonderful summertime at the seaside, filled with the sounds of waves and wind, glorious sunshine, the blissful feeling of freedom, skies full of colours, and beautiful kites that always inspire us.

The taut lines are stretched towards the kite as if connecting two great elements - The Air and The Water... The wind has already picked up the kite... A little more, and it will rush the surfer along the ocean sparkling from the sun's glare. But it’s not the sliding itself that fascinates daredevils, it is the delight of jumping and soaring in the air above the waves. The more skillfully kite surfers control the kite, the higher the wind force they can handle - the higher and longer their flight and rapture lasts...

My mother - Klaudia Osheva, a professional artist, so from my early years I've got grips with what "a magic of creativity" means.

My father a professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Ornithologist - hence my passion for birds and Nature as a whole.

Childhood and teen ages - ballet studio, piano classes, art studio; expeditions into wilderness and mountains with my father and to plein-air with mother.

Graduated from the University, specializing in Roman-German philology. But years passed by, painting kept calling upon me... I “surrendered”, and decided to change my profession, and being as I dreaded to be an amateur, I got the second education at Odessa College of Arts "Grekovka".

Started to exhibit while studying at the college. It was followed by numerous local, nationwide, All-Soviet Union and international exhibitions.

Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1986

 

Preferred media - oil on canvas. Preferred genre - figurative art, compositions of "more than one approach". They demand knowledge of the whole spectra of genres - portraits, landscapes, still-life, - only then your fantasy is not limited by any inner barriers.

I worked in graphics, ceramics, murals and as a theatrical designer - an art director and costume designer for several productions of Odessa Drama Theatre.
 It pleases me that my paintings are in private collections in dozens of countries of the World, from Japan and Australia via Europe to both coasts of the USA.

Two of my portraits are in the collection of the Royal Geographical Society, London

 

My Creative Credo.
 Any work of art should charge the viewer with positive energy - aesthetic, intellectual, and emotional. The touch of any art should enrich the viewer, "to add, not to subtract". This, in my opinion, is its main task.

The artist's canvas is an imprint of his heart, thoughts and soul, which he opens to the viewer. And the conversation "heart to heart" - by default - excludes insincerity.
