Svetlana Sokolova is een hedendaagse Russische kunstenaar. Het Moscow Architectural Institute vormde de basis voor haar carrière en de daaropvolgende artistieke ontwikkeling. Daar deed ze kennis op over compositie, kleurwaarneming, verhoudingen, schaduwen en andere teken- en schildertechnieken. Sokolova bereikt een congruentie tussen haar kijk op de werkelijkheid en de krachtige stroom van de wereldether door te experimenteren met technologie, materialen en emoties.

De getallen, ritmes en harmonie van de fundamentele elementen waaruit de kosmos bestaat, zijn nauw verweven met het wereldbeeld van de kunstenaar. Momenteel is ze vooral geïnteresseerd in mystieke, metafysische en wetenschappelijk-filosofische perspectieven. Op dit moment voelt ze zich ook aangetrokken tot kleurenafbeeldingen vanwege hun beknopte vormen en duidelijke lijnen.
