Biografie
I was born in Western Gemany in the vicinity of Cologne in 1960. With about 5 years I started to paint. When I was 15 I got oil colors and made my first paintings in this technique.
After school I studied medicine in Aachen and Cologne. Thereafter I specialized in pharmacology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology and started my career in science at the University of Cologne. With 38 years I became Professor at the University of Cologne. After stays in Graz and London, I moved to Eastern Germany to the University of Halle, and 2001 to the Leipzig University. In 2015 I became head of the public health administration at Altenburg, Thuringia, and work as a physician.
Besides these medical and scientific activities, I always kept on painting in various techniques, mostly watercolor, oil and pastel. May current interest is the interplay of light and shadow, in pariticular I am fascinated by the gothic windows of cathedrals. Moreover, I am focused on nature, animals and birds, and the ecologicals problems produced by mankind. Another topic is religion, and the aspects of human living. Painters who fascinated me were Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Marc, Dali, and Van Gogh. Among watercolor artists I like Homer Winslow, Whistler, and Paul Dmoch.

I am happy to announce that a jury has elected my painting "Saint Trophime, Arles" for the annual exhibition of the GWS in the Niederrhein Museum in Kevelaer (Germany).

Magnifique huile sur bois qui nous replonge dans un passé qui a marqué l'histoire , en effet . Le 9 Novembre 1989 le monde entier était rivé sur ces images de la chute du Mur de Berlin , et on éprouvait tous un soulagement et une immense libération , on était heureux de voir ce mur s'effondrer , et de voir , tous ces allemands enfin réunis .... Oui , de nos jours , il y a encore des murs dans le monde qui divisent les peuples ... Hélas ...En tout cas , félicitations pour cette belle réalisation !

Un constat terrible......!
Eine schreckliche Beobachtung...!
Cette exode massif de la population ukrainienne qui fuit pour échapper à cette barbarie , à cette folie meurtrière , nous glace au quotidien lorsqu'on voit toutes ces images qui déferlent via les médias . Ici , dans votre huile sur bois , le regard de cette mère protégeant son enfant , porte toute la détresse et toute la misère humaine . Son regard semble perdu , épuisé ... Cette scène décrit très bien la multiplication des appels au secours de ce peuple à bout de nerfs , à bout de souffle devant tant d'atrocités d'une guerre qui s'éternise et ne trouve aucune issue de paix . . . Félicitations pour ce travail artistique remarquable !

Merci bien pour Vorte commentaire! J´ avais peinte cette aquarelle pour un des mons patients qui souffre d´ une maladie chronique et serieuse. J´ ai voulu lui encourager avec le symbol du pissenlit brisent la pierre.

this picture is a present to the 50th anniversary of a friend of mine: 50 poppy flowers stand for 50 years, along the way of life, many grasses and halms etc. for all the events and chaos within the years, and the three trees for her family, her husband and her two daughters., the whole picture allied to the wish that the future might be as bright as this way!
