Antony Squizzato
As a teenager, he was passionate about telematics – the good old minitel – and the first computers, and devoted all his energy to building universes of pixels, which he distributed throughout Europe via the ancestor of the Internet. With these first screens, he encountered virgin and fertile ground for his overflowing imagination. He frequents networks of digital artists, programmers and sound designers, who unconsciously lay the foundations of digital art from their bedroom.
He lets go of the mouse for a while when he discovers the world of Paul Klee, but also the art brut of Chaissac or the street art of Speedy Graphito.
Whatever the media, his credo becomes the “Do It Yourself” culture: he learns by experimenting and mutilating collaborations. He is convinced that his creative future will go through hybridization, to circumvent the diktats specific to each discipline.
The call of digital will be the strongest, since at 22 he created a collective called Periscope, trained in typography, 3D, interface design. His collective was transformed in 1999 into a digital creation and advertising agency. Antony multiplies the hats there: illustrator, animator, director, artistic director...
It is formed according to the projects. He studies graphic design, animation, then teaches them in turn to his teams, in schools or universities. 15 years later, Periscope has become a company of 50 people, of which Antony is in charge of the creative direction and manages the creative studio.
At the same time, he develops a personal universe, and his digital or traditional works are exhibited in various festivals in Asia, America or Europe.
In 2013, when digital dominates our world, Antony begins his redemption, convinced of the impasse he perceives in hyper-communication. He feels the loss of meaning, the loss of values of an all-powerful marketing that sets the rules. He has become the best soldier of a system that bothers him. Above all, he feels the urgency of hatching his universe, which he has been sketching out for so many years.
His works demonstrate an abundant imagination, a poetry charged with energy and a unique graphic style. They remain both the refuge and the artist's response to a world taken over by contemporary solitude, the confinement of the individual behind his screen, the overabundance of insipid images, and the difficulty of standing out in a creation more marketed than ever

Antony Squizzato
