Shabriri Art

Shabriri is a self-taught Estonian artist and writer. Her works cover the topics of existential emptyness (exhibition ,,Flowers and Sand", the novel ,,Ode to Death"), justice (series of eagle paintings) and some are of decorative value (vainglorious birds). The exhibition ,,Flowers and Sand" is mostly of small scale, depicting deserts and blossoms in black and white. The naive, unaware blooming of flowers has a lot in common with monotonous, time-resistant desert landscapes. It is also a meditation on the big question of existence that has found a negative answer in the 20th century. It is questioning the state of Western culture as it seems to have ceased to philosophize on the big questions in the latest times. The eagle series is a collection of larger oil paintings, mainly in dark blue, grey and brown colours, depicting the life of large predators in an allegorical sense. The decorative bird paintings series is somewhat naive and buoyant collection that aims to adorn home interiors.
