Born in 1956 in Tbilisi. 1976 - 1983 - studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. From that time on, my creative activity begins. The period of creative life in Tbilisi was short-lived, but eventful. I worked in the genre of urban landscape. My images of the old city were popular with art lovers and tourists. Ancient Tbilisi with its picturesque streets stretching on the hills represented a magnificent nature. After moving to Moscow in 1993, for a long time the genre of still life became the main direction of my painting. At the beginning of the two thousandth, I became interested in figurative painting, which I supplemented with elements of symbolism and naïve art. Oriental miniatures and masterpieces of Byzantine icon painting and frescoes had a great influence on the formation of my style. The accumulated life experience is inevitably projected onto canvases, transformed into images, forms philosophical overtones, offers form and content.
Time itself, filled with drama and challenges for the entire human civilization, also makes its own adjustments to my work. Nevertheless, I try to convey through my paintings optimism and faith in the creative principle of man.
