Das Unternehmen wurde im September 1999 mit nur einem Ziel gegründet: erschwingliche Kunstwerke einem breiteren Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Gardeco arbeitet mit weniger bekannten Künstlern aus der ganzen Welt zusammen. Unser Ziel ist es, talentierte Designer und Künstler über exklusive Geschäfte einem breiteren Publikum vorzustellen. Biography
Selma Abdon Calheira is a contemporary Brazilian sculptor. At the age of 38, she founded her own ceramics studio, Cores da Terra - Colors of the Earth. She chose this name because it embodies one of her key values: creating art that is environmentally friendly. Another of the artist's main values is social responsibility, as she is training Bahians to work as professional ceramists at Cores da Terra.
Calheira was awarded the Gente que Faz prize in 1996 for her work with economically disadvantaged people in one of Brazil's poorest locations. Selma Calheira's art is fun yet refined, and she uses organic materials like clay and natural pigments in her creations.
