From the perspective of nature, the cheetah is a remarkable species, renowned for its unparalleled speed and graceful agility. Its slender body, lithe limbs, and alert gaze embody the essence of the wild. In my sculpture, I strived to capture these distinctive features. The dynamic posture of the cheetah, as if poised to spring into a sprint, conveys its inherent vitality. The intricate lattice - like structure of the hollowed - out design mimics the cheetah's muscular contours, giving the sculpture a sense of organic fluidity.
In terms of modernity, I chose stainless steel as the material for its durability, reflective quality, and sleek aesthetic. It represents the modern industrial world, standing in contrast to the natural form of the cheetah. The craftsmanship involved in creating the hollowed - out structure is a testament to modern manufacturing techniques. Precise cutting and welding were employed to form the delicate yet sturdy framework of the sculpture.
During the creative process, I delved deep into the theme, constantly exploring how to balance the natural and the modern elements. One interesting challenge I faced was ensuring the structural integrity of the slender parts of the cheetah, such as its legs and tail, while maintaining the hollowed - out design. To solve this, I experimented with different thicknesses of stainless - steel sheets and reinforcement methods, ultimately finding a solution that preserved both the aesthetic appeal and the stability of the sculpture.
