When viewers first see my "the Lion King" stainless - steel, hollowed - out sculpture of a resting lion, they are immediately struck by the stunning mirror - like reflections on its surface and the lightness of the intricate hollowed - out structure. If they could touch it, the smoothness of the stainless steel would offer a cool and sleek tactile experience. Audibly, one can imagine the soft whistling sound as the wind passes through the hollows, like a gentle lullaby. My creative inspiration comes from the pursuit of rich sensory experiences. In different seasons and times, the sculpture varies. In winter sunlight, the cold sheen of the steel enhances its majestic stillness, while at dusk, the shadows cast by the hollowed - out parts add a mysterious touch.
