David Sahakyants Artist, filmmaker, animator, producer. Born in 1975 in Yerevan (Armenia), in the family of Robert and Lyudmila Sahakyants, eminent filmmakers/animators. In 1992 graduated from Yerevan secondary school №77. At the same time, from 1981 to 1991 he studied at the Henry Igityan’s Center for Aesthetic Education. Since 1992 he worked at the "Armenfilm" Film Studio (currently the National Cinema Center of the Republic of Armenia) as an artist-animator. In 1993, he served in the army at the city of Gyumri. In 1995 he was demobilized and commensed working in the "Armenfilm" Studio animators’ group. In 2008, he became a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia. In 2010, jointly with Hayk Sahakyants, his brother, and Nana Sahakyants, his sister, he founded the "Sahakyants Animation” animation studio, which he leads to this day. In 2014, he also founded Workshop Studio of Animation after the name of Robert Sahakyants. А children's animation school-studio, which has no analogues in the region, has been created within Workshop Studio, and it functions utill today. In 2016, David Sahakyants was honoured with the title of Honored Art Worker of Armenia. He is author of more than 30 animated films. His video clips "First of All" (2003), "Lullaby" (2008), "Hollywood" (2009) won "The Best music video" award by version of the game Armenian National Music Awards. As an artist, he had two personal exhibitions – in 1994, and in 2017. Married, and has three children.
