Ryan was born in the rural town of Dixon, IL in 1972. As a child he was always interested in drawing, starting with pencil and paper then progressing into different mediums as the years moved on.
In high school, Ryan worked very closely with his instructor, learning different techniques for his mediums of choice. After highschool, ill health and lack of inspiration led him to stop creating for about 10 years, but the 'itch' was still there. In the past year and a half, Ryan has started creating pieces again.
Ryan likes to work on larger pieces, normally around 18'X24' and larger. His inspiration comes from the world around him and photographs. He has mainly been working in charcoal and colored pencils, but is starting to incorporate more pastel pieces into his collection.
In the future, Ryan's goals are to show in art festivals, in galleries and to take a more active role in the local art scene.
