My colorfields are a series of color field paintings that have been continually supplemented with new works for 15 years.
I choose the technical means and tools that interest me most in the current situation.
Mixed media of acrylic, papers, beeswax, sand, spatula, spirit,
oil and pencil.
on paper or canvas...
The driving force of the series is my joy of color, which I want to express through contrasts, simple to strict geometric image layouts and a variety of surface structures.
Bei meinen colorfields handelt es sich um eine Serie von Farbfeldgemälden, die seit 15 Jahren immer wieder durch neue Werke ergänzt wird.
Ich wähle die technischen Mittel und Werkzeuge,die mich in der aktuellen Situation am meisten interessieren.
Mischtechnik aus Acryl, Papieren, Bienenwachs, Sand, Spachtel, Spiritus,
Öl, Bunt- und Bleistift
auf Papier oder Leinwand..
Der Motor der Serie ist meine Farbenfreude, die ich durch Kontraste, schlichte bis strenge geometrische Bildaufteilung und vielfältige Oberflächenstrukturen zum Ausdruck bringen möchte.

This ten-part series on watercolor cardboard was created in 2013-2014 and is a continuation of my basic theme of color field painting.
The use of oil pastels and gouache, which repel each other, results in the creation of a variety of textures.While tidying up the studio, I found an old paint box with gouache and a box with oilsticks and just started working. The first three pictures were taken every month, all with a striped pattern and mostly in the same format. Until then, the choice of colors had been intuitive. From painting no. four it became clear, that it would be a seasonal circle.
Diese zehnteilige Serie auf Aquarellkarton entstand in den Jahren 2013-2014 und ist eine Weiterführung meines Grundthemas Farbfeldmalerei.
Die Verwendung von Ölkreide und Gouache, die einander abstossen, führt zur Entstehung vielfältiger Texturen.

The unlimited series 'dots' is a continuation of my theme of color fields. All surfaces and shapes are created by points. It fascinates me to create visual space, even in small formats, and the constant repetition and the creation of ongoing patterns puts you in an extremely meditative state.
Die unbegrenzte Serie 'dots' ist ein Weiterführung meines Themas Farbfelder. Alle Flächen und Formen entstehen durch Punkte.
Es fasziniert mich, auch in kleinen Formaten visuelle Weite zu erzeugen, und durch die ständige Wiederholung und die Entstehung fortlaufender Muster gerät man in einen äusserst meditativen Zustand.
Die unbegrenzte Serie 'dots' ist ein Weiterführung meines Themas Farbfelder. Alle Flächen und Formen entstehen durch Punkte.

The special feature of the series, in addition to the color and the field division of the picture, are the many different structures of the surfaces, which give the paintings a material character.
For this I use watercolors, oil, acrylic, oil pastels and pens on paper,
but increasingly also fine graphic techniques.
Meine neuen Bilder entstehen durch verschiedenen Techniken, die sich durch immer neue Experimente entwickeln. Dabei spielen grafische Elemente eine immer grössere Rolle..
Das besondere Merkmal der Reihe sind, neben der Farbigkeit und der Feldaufteilung des Bildes, die vielen verschiedenen Strukturen der Flächen, die den Bildern einen stofflichen Charakter verleihen.

Биография
I am a painter and violinteacher in Berlin. My works have been exhibited for 25 years and are represented in private and public collections.
Painting and my violin have accompanied me since early childhood.
My painting theme are colorfields that find expression in a variety of forms, often self-invented techniques and with different media, mostly in series.
This perhaps roughly corresponds to the musical form 'theme with variations'.
The variations of my main theme arise in correspondence with my respective life themes and situations.
The selection of works presented here are divided into three categories:
colorfields
stripes
dots
The tension between freedom and limitations is the main theme of my painting. How much structure does freedom need in order to be able to develop to its maximum .....this is an important question for me.
Especially Classical Music with its many specifications and abstract painting in which everything is possible.... they alternate with each other, sometimes organically, sometimes abruptly both in my life and in my paintings. The theme can be found in my artworks primarily in the use of the line as a limiting elementor-actually- in my dots as the only structure-forming marks allowed.
In general, the Dots series brings an unexpected additional benefit to my painting... that is the meditative flow during the constant repetition of dots. I get bored very quickly with traditional meditation, but these abstract pointillist paintings require a high degree of mindfulness and presence. I would be happy if some of this deceleration spilled over to the viewers of

Fata morgana
This painting /collage is part of my series "colorfields'. It got its title, because i had been inspired by a trip to egypt. As so often before, i used acrylic and many other materials. It consists of applying and removing a lot of layers.
